Ziolkowska.

I’m a UX & UI Designer based in Barcelona. I’m a challenge-driven person, problem-solver, focused and determined to get things done.

I enjoy bringing order to chaos and planning in advance. My superpower is to speak: I know fluently 3 languages and I’m good at talking to strangers. For the last few years I used this superpower to sell Tesla cars, now I use it to discover insights that help me build products that are more human.

My background.

I'm a designer who

understands business.

Education

I earned my first master’s degree in Communication and Marketing, it taught me how to perform research, analyze data and plan for strategies. Later I finished a second master’s in International Business that extended my knowledge to apply it in various markets, cultural backgrounds and helped me master 3 languages. In late 2019, after wining the Electronic Arts Scholarship I took part in Ironhack UX & UI Product Design Bootcamp.

Background

Before moving to UX & UI field I spent almost 5 years in the automotive industry, first in Volkswagen Poland working in the Marketing Department and delivering unforgettable experiences to our clients. Then in Sales at Tesla Spain, focusing on bringing people closer to high tech products, probably the most exciting cars designed in the XXI century.

Design

I changed my career to UX & UI Design in late 2019. Since then I have carried out 9 projects of digital product design (and redesign) using Lean and Design Thinking Methodology. This work tough me about the importance of measurable data as the base for design decisions and that it’s better to fail fast and cheap rather than hold on to untested ideas.

How I work.

What I’m good at.

I enjoy working in teams, planning the work, bring order to chaos and keeping track of details. I’m well organized and focused on the problem. People see me as very professional and some would call me a fighter since I have a strong character and I tend to be persistent to get the result I expect. On the other hand, my coworkers also describe me as an optimist, a joyful person with a positive mindset and I pay attention to creating a good mood in the team.

User Experience Design

I have a deep understanding of the Design Thinking process to create innovative solutions based on user research, understanding mental models and collecting data that becomes the basis for the decisions.

Project Management

Identifying stakeholders and managing relations with them in order to create solutions that fulfill their business goals, are cost and time effective as well as are measurable by KPIs.

Web and App Design

Translating insights from user research into appealing products and functional UI that was prototyped and tested early in the design process to optimize resources investment.

My values.

My social impact.

I enjoy working on projects that make a social impact and bring joy to people’s lives. This principle led me to volunteer during the UEFA European Football Championship in 2012 where I worked in the Volunteer Management Team. A few years later I got also involved in the Olympics and Paralympic of 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I volunteered to work with the athletes in the accreditation team and organizing volunteers’ work as the Workforce Team Leader. I volunteered also to manage social media for Fura Szczescia charity project in Poznan, Poland and organizing TEDx event in Leon, Spain.

After hours.

In my free time​

When I was 7 I dreamt of becoming Indiana Jones. I wanted to never say no to a challenge, go out the comfort zone, discover, set goals, have adventures and meet amazing people on the way. Then I grew up… and I do just that. Maybe except wearing the cowboy hat, that would be weird! 

In my free time, I drink lots of coffee and watch intellectual entertainment videos, TED.com is my Netflix. Did I mention I hitchhiked 3000 km, dived in an underwater museum and climbed the Corcovado mountain in Rio for my birthday? As Alan Watts said, “it’s better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way”. And this is what I do in my free time.
